“That’s what I love about the Outsiders," said Will Scarlet, smiling broadly. "'They are so delightfully daft! Like that mannishly-attired girl at the archery show earlier, hey, Marion? She looked about mad enough to try running off into Sherwood with your husband in your place!”

Marion smiled. “Do you hear that, Robin? Apparently, it is a sure sign of madness to wish to run away with you to Sherwood.”

“Well, we knew that already,” said Little John.

“All right, you three, enough of you!” Robin laughed. “I can neither help it nor offer explanation as to why it causes young women to lose their heads every time they hear my name!”

“Because you’re a legend, Robin,” Will intoned, pulling an excessively grave face. “And truly great legends—”

“Never die?” Robin supplied.

Will tossed back another swallow of ale. “I was going to say ‘inspire dementia’, but I suppose your ending works, too.”
