“Of course I do," he replied. "But it’s not enough to simply be in the right place.”
“Well, what else do you have to do?”
“It’s not what *I* have to do.”
*Of course,* Sula thought. When it came to undoing enchantments, everyone knew, it almost always took at least two.
“Someone else,” Sigmund finished, “would have to treat me like royalty.”
Sula’s nose wrinkled in distaste. “Treat you like royalty? Why should anybody have to do that?” *Unless…,* a thought began to form, and she looked at the figure before her with new eyes. His singular grace… His aloof manner… The uncommon air about him… Was it possible…?
“Sigmund,” Sula said slowly. “You’re not a prince, are you?”
Sigmund said nothing. Perhaps he wasn’t supposed to. When it came to undoing enchantments, everyone knew, there were often things that it would ruin all to tell. Sigmund could not say it outright, but Sula knew deep down that it was true: She had found a prince.
